What's Happening to TV Shows and Movies in 2025

Posted on Dec 31, 1969 by

TV Shows, Movies

Am I the only person who's noticed that TV shows this year have gotten pretty bad? Some of the shows I like are being cancelled, and the new ones are, generally, bad.

I've also noticed that there's a much higher percentage of reality shows, which I hate! And that the ones that are being released seem to have a lower quality of writing and use lesser-known actors.

I'm sure a lot of this is because the competition has never been higher, and streaming companies are struggling to figure out how to make a profit. So, they're cutting corners wherever they can.

Maybe the old on-air channels weren't so bad? Companies like TiVo had given us options to skip most commercials.

Even the movies being released are mostly horror. Very few comedies and far fewer good action movies.

I find myself more and more watching older TV shows and movies because the quality was so much better.

I've been writing and performing music for decades, playing my guitar, and doing full-stack software development to feed my soul! I love learning new things but also realizing when something being new doesn't always make it better.
